My Experience

9 Years Experience

During my professional journey, I have worked in various positions in the manufacturing sector. My duties entailed optimizing procedures, improving productivity, ensuring safety, and playing a vital part in the growth and diversification of a thriving chemical surface coating product line. Owing to my eagerness to learn and adaptability, I have successfully shifted my career path to the technology industry. As a Software Engineer, I have designed technical projects and gained proficiency in diverse programming languages, thanks to Bootcamps and mentorship from experienced Full-Stack Developers.

Software Engineer

Full Stack N-Site: September, 2021 - Present

Throughout my time in this position, I managed an Agile development team, ensuring on-time delivery of high-quality software. In designing web applications, I utilized a wide range of technologies, including HTML, CSS, Javascript/jQuery, Bootstrap, Node.js, MongoDB, React, Next.JS, Python and Django. Employment of Docker, Django Rest Framework, and CICD automation were employed for efficient app containerization, enhanced functionality, reduction of errors and enhanced speed of deployment processes. The web applications were deployed on AWS for improved availability and reliability. This experience afforded me the opportunity to lead a major project from its conceptualization to the minimum viable product (MVP), fostering cross-functional collaboration throughout the entire project lifecycle.

Continuous Improvement Engineer and Six Sigma Leader

Steward Advanced Materials: September 2020 - September 2021

My previous position involved the collection, monitoring, and analysis of production data and trends. My focus was identifying areas where process variation and waste could be reduced, while also improving safety, quality, and repeatability. Through the implementation and maintenance of Lean Manufacturing processes, I was able to enhance line efficiency, optimize processes, improve product quality, labor utilization, layout optimization, profitability, and operating costs for new and existing products. I managed all continuous improvement projects and assisted in identifying new or improved processes or methods. Utilizing production capacity data, quality statistics, and safety recommendations, I was able to justify costs and ensure that all projects were executed to a high standard.

Plant Manager

Steward Advanced Materials: July 2019 - September 2020

My role involved implementing various policies and procedures to enhance production methods, equipment, operation procedures, and working conditions. To ensure the safety of team members, I collaborated with an Environmental Health and Safety consultant to provide top-notch safety training. Alongside the Buyer and planning department, I maintained optimal levels of raw materials and production supplies. By analyzing data on sales orders, materials and supplies inventory levels, equipment PMs, and R&D equipment needs, I generated highly effective Finished Goods Transfer and Production Schedules. I oversaw the training of production operators on proper production techniques, safety, and equipment operation, resulting in enhanced operator safety, productivity, and quality assurance. Additionally, I created highly effective training presentations for personnel on our product lines, operations, and inventory management.

Process Engineer II

Steward Advanced Materials: November 2014 - July 2019

I successfully collaborated with teams from various departments to optimize the performance of our equipment and devise new equipment that streamlined our production process. This encompassed augmenting our process capacity, refining the flow of our products, and enhancing overall efficiency. Moreover, I expertly supervised the scaling up of our processes from lab scale to high-volume manufacturing and expertly reconfigured our plant layouts to minimize production downtime and optimize our manufacturing efficiency.

Process and Development Engineering Technician

Steward Advanced Materials: May 2014 - November 2014

I played a key role in the development and scaling up of a highly successful chemical surface coating product line, collaborating with R&D, Process, and Project Engineers to ensure its success. With the guidance of the Sr. Process and Development Engineer, I completed several DOE projects for customers who were looking to scale up their development lines, achieving outstanding results. Furthermore, I conducted extensive studies on wastewater treatment for the plant wastewater facility, ensuring the highest standards of environmental safety and compliance were met.
